Chicago \u2013 GoAskAlex (GoAskAlexOnline.com<\/a>) is updating fans on her health two years after having her entire colon removed from a 2019 ileostomy due to ulcerative colitis in a brand-new\u00a0YouTube post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The auburn-haired performer, artist, model and influencer gathered questions from her social media pages and addresses them here in an emotional 29-minute video. \u201cWe\u2019re all learning together!\u201d she exclaims as she answers a list of queries:<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t miss constantly being in pain, bleeding, having emergencies and urgency when I\u2019m out in public,\u201d she explains in the video. \u201cThe dietary changes are quite intense\u2026 I think I\u2019m going to be okay with eating a well-balanced diet \u2026 it\u2019s really hydration what I need to worry about.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alex adds that with the ileostomy, she is totally cured of her autoimmune disease \u201cbut I still experience some and cramping if I eat too much too fast, I don\u2019t really have a lot of control over my gas output, which is awkward and I\u2019m more dehydrated\u2026 but aside from that\u2026 I\u2019m pretty much totally symptom-free, and it\u2019s really fucking cool to say that.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was diagnosed when I was ten, but I was sick a long time before then\u2026 my entire life and childhood was spent in pain and humiliation, and now I have so much freedom\u2026 I\u2019m ready to actually start living my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alex noted that \u201cwhen people describe their ideal sexual partner, they don\u2019t usually describe a pouch attached to their abdomen\u2026 for me to accept the fact that one day when I have a partner, they will have to look past that – that there is a part of me that someone will have to look past, it\u2019s really challenging\u2026 when there are so many beautiful people that don\u2019t have this. It\u2019s difficult to look at it and see it in the mirror and know that that\u2019s my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

She concludes that while the four-hour life-changing operation was worth it, \u201cI don\u2019t feel like I really had a choice\u2026 this is just the next step in my life and this is what my life looks like now and I\u2019m just going to live the best life I can.\u201d<\/p>\n
