\u201cYou have to know something about what you like, and what you want and what you want to explore\u2026 so I point people in the direction of erotica, because I find that erotica is a great place where you can observe your own reactions,\u201d says Bisbey. \u201cYou can read to each other\u2026 and share movie nights, reading nights\u2026 it\u2019s a great way to find things without having to go somewhere and do something, which people are always really anxious about.\u201d<\/div>\n

Bisbey also touches on enjoying public performances (\u201cburlesque nights can be a lot of fun\u201d), non-monogamy (\u201ceverybody always thinks of a threesome as the place to start; three is an awkward number!\u201d), intimate gatherings (\u201cyou can go to a swingers\u2019 club and watch\u2026 or camming is great\u201d), roleplay (\u201cthat\u2019s a lot of fun in terms of spicing up your relationship\u201d) and going pro (\u201chire a sex worker\u201d).<\/div>\n

She also adds, \u201cYour communication needs to be really good; if there\u2019s something you\u2019re not comfortable talking about, GET comfortable talking about it\u2026 it\u2019s supposed to be fun; if it\u2019s heavy and its intense from the very beginning, maybe you want to be trying something else.<\/div>\n

\u201cKnow yourself, know what you want; if you\u2019re a person who tends to be insecure, do the work on yourself to deal with the insecurity before you start inviting other people around\u2026 if you\u2019re secure in your relationship and your relationship is good, it\u2019s just boring now, that\u2019s a better place to start from than \u2018our relationship is on the rocks\u2019.\u201d<\/div>\n
