Chicago – Corey D. Silverstein, the driving force behind\u00a0MyAdultAttorney.com<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Adult.Law<\/a>,\u00a0recently spoke to VICE\u00a0as part of a piece exploring the<\/p>\n

wider sex work-scape in light of Roe vs. Wade\u2019s recent overturn.<\/p>\n

VICE authors wrote that, \u201cIn the months since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and eradicated the national right to abortion, many sex workers are wrestling with the possibility that they may be unable to terminate an unwanted pregnancy.\u201d<\/p>\n

The authors spoke to sex workers in different areas of the field, including adult performer Siri Dahl. Silverstein then added a legal perspective to the piece.<\/p>\n

Though he has \u201cyet to come across one instance in 20 years of a performer actually getting pregnant on set,\u201d Silverstein told VICE, \u201cI always recommend performers get health insurance. Always.\u201d<\/p>\n

Silverstein then pointed out that this is not always realistic, in part because many people simply don\u2019t have the consistent income to afford it, addeding credence to VICE\u2019s observation that many sex workers live \u201cpaycheck-to-paycheck.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI was thrilled to be part of this article because VICE continues to cover important issues that media outlets too often ignore, as they involve the adult entertainment industry,\u201d Silverstein said.<\/p>\n

\u201cDobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/i>\u00a0overturned 50 years of legal precedent that I\u2019ve studied as a constitutional attorney,\u201d Silverstein explained. \u201cThe practical effects of this decision are unfortunately being mischaracterized and understated.\u201d<\/p>\n
