About Adult Arts and Crafts
Jennifer Stein is the founder and head dicktator of Adult Arts and Crafts, one of a kind works of art made from dildos of all shapes, sizes and colors.
After graduating from the University of Michigan, Stein moved to Los Angeles, and worked in entertainment management. Throughout a lifetime trying not to be defined by gender expectations, trying to avoid sleeping with a DJ, and the everyone in LA telling her to “manifest the perfect dick” she decided to take matters into her own hands. The LA the 26-year-old took her creatively mischievous mind and love of all things phallic and beautifully crafted works of custom-made works of art made from dildos and found objects.
Stein says Adult Arts and Crafts is about breaking barriers and empowering all sexes and taking the shame out of acknowledging and appreciating sexuality, whether it’s your own or someone else’s. She makes them by custom request to the size and shape and color you want, it’s not for him or her, it’s for them. And lucky for her, the ideas keep coming. “I have a list of over 300 ideas,” says Stein, who adds to it almost daily based on interactions with humans, the world around her, and her daily walks with her dog through the fashion district in DTLA.
Prices range from as low as $35 for “Cupcocks” to as high as $225 for “Banana Split Em In Half,” like in life, each dick has its own unique charm, character and point of view.
“it’s a lot easier for people to talk about loving dick when its presented as art,” said Stein. “Our generation has broken so many barriers in terms of achieving the impossible in regards to gender, race, background etc. Sexuality on the other hand, is still so sensitive. There is shame being placed on every extreme, I hope one day, it’s as casual as talking about your pets, or your favorite store.”
With Stein’s dickorations, it takes people a second to notice what it is. And that’s usually after they have complimented it. How cool would it be if a piece of dickor was the standard desk decoration?
