Adult film legend Steve Holmes, XBIZ’s 2018/2019 Foreign Male Performer of the Year, has been nominated for three new awards by the adult industry media giant.

Holmes learned of the nominations after being presented with the Legacy Award at the RISE Dinner and Awards Gala in Hollywood on Nov. 20th.

“I was totally taken by surprise,” said Holmes. “I had no idea they gave out any awards that night. I wasn’t even paying that close attention to what was being said on the stage because I was surrounded by beautiful women and the dinner was excellent. But I was very happy that my old friend Manuel Ferrara handed it to me, so that made it super special.”

“My friends ask me, especially my friends in Germany, ‘what is a legacy award’, and I say, ‘I guess it’s for being old’ [laughs]”

XBIZ has nominated Holmes for Best Actor – Taboo Themed Release for his role in director-star Dana Vespoli’s “Ministry of Evil”; Best Sex Scene — Taboo-Themed Release for his scene with Vespoli, Julia Ann and Victoria Voxxx in the same movie; and Best Sex Scene — Gonzo for his performance with the inimitable Jane Wilde in “Slut Puppies 14” from Jules Jordan.

Seasoned with theological references and blasphemous imagery, “Ministry Of Evil “ is set in a monastic order where people need to have their faith restored, and explores twisted kinks that religion inspires but nonetheless forbids.

Assisted by nuns Julia Ann and Dana Vespoli, Father Steve uses sexually corrective practices to cure raven-haired beauty Victoria Voxxx of demonic possession in the XBIZ-nominated sex scene.

Regarding his clerical role, Holmes recalled, “I’ve played so many priests and protestant ministers; a Roman Catholic cardinal. . . . I even once played a rabbi, even though I was the only person in the scene with an uncircumcised dick!”

“I know Dana Vespoli from the very beginning of her career,” he added. “We did our first scene for Anabolic, where I was beating her with a dead fish, and at the end her body was covered in fish scales. I love working for her because she is super-creative and such a lovely person.”

The feeling is mutual, Vespoli said: “He always brings something unique and special to every performance—he can be hilarious or sinister and of course he’s a huge pervert who is down for anything. Bless his heart! And he’s so kind and generous. He’s just a great guy who can run circles around male talent in this business who are half his age.”

Regarding the nomination for his gape-filled Christmas-themed scene with Jane Wilde in “Slut Puppies 14”, Holmes said, “That was a fun scene. Jane is so lovely; I loved shooting with her and it shows.”

Wilde commented, ”This scene with Steve Holmes was my first time working with him and one of my favorite scenes ever. It’s an absolute classic.”

Steve Holmes, 58, began his performing career in Europe in 1996. His stage name was suggested by a reporter “because I was really skinny, and tall, with a big dick, and he said I reminded him of John Holmes,” Holmes said. A veteran of well over 2500 scenes, Holmes has been living and working in Los Angeles and Budapest since 2002. In 2015 he began producing and directing for Kink.com’s Public Disgrace website.

Since the spring of 2018, Holmes has been bringing his camera on set to show fans what really goes on behind the scenes at his YouTube channel, which now has more than 16 million views and over 43,000 subscribers.

Steve Holmes is one of the most beloved and respected performers working today, and the esteem with which he is held is reflected in the fact that he works with all the top studios and continues to turn out performances that win the hearts of her fans and critics the world over.

The 2020 XBIZ Awards show will be held Thursday, January 16 at the JW Marriott L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles. The red-carpet extravaganza is the capstone of the annual XBIZ trade show, which unites all segments of adult for boundless business opportunities.
