Chicago – #SexTalkTuesday announced today that Colin Rowntree, Founder of Wasteland.com, will serve as special guest moderator of the October 6th edition of the Twitter-based chat show, to discuss pandemic Sex Tech.  The chat will run from 8pm-9pm Eastern Standard Time.

“We are so excited to have a decorated porn industry veteran, sex tech pioneer, and the proverbial “Lord of the Underworld” joining us this week to discuss various sex tech topics and his his recent triumphs with filming remotely during the Covid-19 pandemic,” a rep said.

Launched in 1994, Wasteland.com is the Internet’s oldest BDSM site, and one of the few ethical porn options out there that openly caters to fans of kink and casts real-life BDSM players. “Safe, sane, and consensual fun is always key,” Rowntree said, “and Wasteland is also happy to help fans educate themselves if they want to explore the lifestyle.”

Over the years, Rowntree has won numerous industry awards, including, more recently, the 2018 XBiz Legacy Award. He has also been lauded by the Free Speech Coalition and other progressive media outlets. In addition, Rowntree frequently contributes to both adult industry trade publications, and has also been featured in mainstream outlets such as Forbes, Rolling Stone, CNBC, BBC, AskMen, The Washington Post, Wired, Salon, HBO,  and more!

Never one to grow complacent though, Rowntree just released Gone Viral — a full-length dystopian parody feature that was shot on POV cams and directed entirely using Skype. Rowntree explained: “When the pandemic first arrived and we closed up our regular studio film shooting on March 1st, I was unclear as to how to develop new movies during this period–because obviously the demand for porn got even higher with everyone locked down.  Then, one morning while ruminating in my “Lord of the Underworld Man Cave” in New Hampshire, it occurred to me that with the right performer with some basic equipment, this would be something worth at least trying.  I called June Ann, who is a clever real-life PhD virologist with whom I have worked with for over a decade–in her capacity as a kinky fetish performer.”

Rowntree continued, “Our process was very streamlined:  we shot it that Friday with her in the Midwest, and me directing in New Hampshire over Skype. I got the footage over Dropbox that night, edited and soundtracked the movie in 72 hours, and we released our first Pandemic Era dystopian film the following week. Since then, we have done 3 episodes to that series and just released the full length feature “Gone Viral” into the wild.”
