As a KC native, I’ll always rep the Chiefs and cheer them to the W. As a Las Vegas local, I’m now also cheering for the Raiders. So those are my go-to teams this season.
Wouldn’t mind seeing Cowboys, Steelers, and Rams also win this week.

Tampa, Pittsburgh, Rams, Raiders even though the stats lean towards Baltimore because of home field advantage and the Raider Nation goes hard as fuck, and Cleveland.

Tampa over Dallas. Tampa will begin the march to LA. They are the best team in the NFC. They proved it last year and then somehow TB12 convinced the whole team to come back. My heart is in Big D and Dak says he’s ready, but the Bucs will win.

Buffalo will beat Pittsburgh. The Steelers looked tired at the end of last season and the schedule makers were cruel to line them up against an up-and-coming Bills team where Josh is ready to replace Big Ben as the AFC’s new gunslinger.

Chiefs over the Browns. Chiefs at home with a motivated Patrick Mahomes will be too much for a really strong Browns squad.

Rams over the Bears. The Bears have no offensive line and Andy Dalton is not good and the Rams are. Matt Stafford has found a new home and I am excited to see what they do.

Ravens beat the Raiders. This will be a good game but Baltimore is better and hopefully Lamar won’t have COVID for like the 9th time and if he plays, he’ll light Vegas up like Cher at the MGM!

Week One Record: 0 – 0 Season Record: 0 – 0

Thursday:

Dallas @ Tampa – It’s always nice to start the new season with the Super Bowl champions playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Sure, it’s been 25 years since Dallas won the big game, but their fans still believe. Dak Prescott returns for the Cowboys after being hurt for most of the year, but Tampa returns all 22 starters from their Super Bowl victory over the Chiefs. Tampa 31 Dallas 17

Sunday:

Jacksonville @ Houston – Tyrod Taylor will start at QB for the Texans while we’ll see the debut of Jacksonville’s #1 pick, Trevor Lawrence. Expect Houston to run the ball and the Jags to pick up their first win with Urban Meyer as head coach. This isn’t college ball, but it’s close when you’re playing Houston this year. Jacksonville 24 Houston 17

LA Chargers @ Washington – 17-year veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick will get the start for Washington while last year’s rookie of the year Justin Herbert will tee it up for the Chargers. This game will be decided on how well Washington’s defense can control the high-powered Charger offense. LA Chargers 27 Washington 20

Seattle @ Indianapolis – Carson Wentz takes over the QB duties for the Colts as he tries to revive his career after his Philly experience. Russell Wilson and the Seahawks have their sites set on challenging the Rams in the NFC West. Seattle 27 Colts 24

NY Jets @ Carolina – Sam Darnold gets a fresh start in Carolina after being drafted by the Jets. Is he looking for revenge? Probably not. The Jets continue to look for a replacement for Joe Namath after drafting BYU’s Zach Wilson. Carolina 34 Jets 24

Minnesota @ Cincinnati – Playing for a wild card and second place in the NFC North, the underachieving Viking take on a young Bengals team lead by a healthy Joe Burrow. Look for the Bengals to open the season with a minor upset of the Purple People Eaters. Bengals 34 Vikings 31

Arizona @ Tennessee – The Titans could have one of the best offenses in the league with a solid pass attack including the addition of Julio Jones to complement a great ground attack. The Cardinals are solid on offense as well with Kyler Murray leading the attack. And don’t forget the Red Birds also added JJ Watt to an already solid defense. Titans 27 Cardinals 24

San Francisco @ Detroit – We’ll see how the big trade between the Rams and Lions paid off as Jared Goff starts for the Lions as Matthew Stafford heads West. The 49ers return Nick Bosa and Jimmy Garoppolo from injuries last season. The Lions are improved but it will take some time. 49ers 31 Lions 17

Pittsburgh @ Buffalo – The Bills are one of the favorites to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl with Josh Allen leading a powerful offense. Roethlisberger is back for his 35th season as Steelers QB but his O-line better keep him clean or Old Man Three Rivers might not last the season. Bills 34 Steelers 24

Philadelphia @ Atlanta – With Julio Jones off to Tennessee, Matt Ryan will have a few new targets with Calvin Ridley and rookie TE Kyle Pitts. However, the Eagles have a solid D-line which ATL will have to contend with. Jalen Hurts takes over for Philly at QB, but his offensive line is suspect, so he better keep his track shoes handy. Atlanta 27 Philadelphia 24

Cleveland @ Kansas City – The Chiefs improved their offensive line in the offseason, and they’ll get an early test from the Browns and Myles Garrett. Cleveland also improved their pass defense. The Browns have a solid O-line with a solid running attack which leads to Baker Mayfield opening up the play-action passing game. However, the Chiefs still rock it on offense with Patrick Mahomes and all his weapons. This should be the game of the week. Kansas City 38 Browns 34

Green Bay @ New Orleans in Jacksonville FL – Because of the latest hurricane to slap Louisiana this game was moved to Jacksonville. So much for home field advantage. Drew Brees and his hairpiece are now working for NBC so Jameis Winston is your new Saints starting QB. After an odd offseason, Aaron Rodgers is back as Packers QB with a few added weapons to help him out offensively. The Packers should roll on to another NFC North title and they should have little problem handling the Saints. Packers 38 New Orleans 24

Denver @ NY Giants – Teddy Bridgewater takes over the QB duties for the Broncos. Denver also improved their pass defense along with the return of Von Miller. The Giants’ hopes rest on the return of Saquon Barkley. It could be a long day for Daniel Jones if the Giants O-line doesn’t improve from last year. Denver 24 Giants 20

Miami @ New England – A lot of new faces in New England starting with rookie QB Mac Jones. He’ll be throwing the ball to several new receivers and the Pats’ defense also had an overhaul. Tua Tagovailoa has been named starter in Miami and the Dolphins defense is pretty good. New England 24 Miami 21

Sunday Night:

Chicago @ LA Rams – Matthew Stafford takes on his old rival from the NFC North is his first game as Rams QB in sold-out Sofi Stadium. The Rams should vie for the NFC West title this year. The Rams are solid on both sides of the ball, something Stafford never had while the Lions QB. The Bears will start Andy Dalton as their fans eagerly await the Justin Fields era in Chicago to begin. It could be a long Sunday night for Da Bears. Rams 38 Chicago 17

Monday Night:

Baltimore @ Las Vegas – Derek Carr needs to continue his great play from last year as the Raiders added some new pass targets to complement a solid running attack. The Ravens have a solid pass defense but need to shore up their run stopping ability. The Ravens like to run the football and Lamar Jackson is a tremendously mobile QB. Jon Gruden is 19 – 29 while posting an 8 – 8 season last year. It’s time for a double-digit win total and a deep run in the playoffs for the Raiders or Mark Davis might start thinking about a change. Raiders 30 Ravens 27
