Chicago – Multi-award-winning gay film director, producer, and author Steve Balderson has released his first memoir chronicling his sexual awakening, “Year of the Whore,” and is slated to go into production on a feature film based on his book later this year.

“Year of the Whore” chronicles Steve Balderson’s journey of going from a devastating, decade-long toxic relationship to embarking on a captivating journey. His provocative memoir details his sexual reawakening, intense love affairs, career milestones, and soul-stirring transformation. It all begins in his small hometown in Wamego, Kansas, then moves on to Italy with his big win at the Salento International Film Festival for “El Ganzo,” and ultimately, he ends up in Hollywood. “Year of the Whore” is vulnerable and candid, navigates love and the human condition, and weaves together magic and the allure of the cosmos.

“I’m excited for the world to be able to read this memoir—it is like nothing you’ve ever read. You will be amazed at what takes place in the 119 pages of the book. There have been many sexual awakening books, but very few with a gay protagonist that almost everyone can relate to,” says Steve Balderson.
“Year of the Whore” is available in the US on Amazon as an audiobook and paperback amazon.com/dp/1735456993. The book is also available on Amazon in the UK, Canada, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Poland, Scandinavia, The Netherlands, Australia, and Japan.
Starting June 1st, an Indigogo campaign will kick off to celebrate Pride Month and raise funding for the feature film of the book, “Love, Venezia,” which will star mainstream and adult actors.
