Pittsburgh @ Cleveland
While the Pittsburgh offense looks pretty bad, I feel they will put up some points against a Browns defense who let Joe Flacco throw 4 touchdowns. Steelers defense holds the Browns offense off. Steelers in a close one.

LA Rams @ Arizona
Rams defense will be able to slow down Kyler Murray and put some points on an average Cardinals defense. Rams win.

Green Bay @ Tampa Bay
It’s hard to bet against Aaron Rodgers but the Packers haven’t given him weapons. Bucs defense will lock them down while Brady and the offense put up some points. Buccaneers win.

San Francisco @ Denver
If this game was late in the season, I’d take Denver. But at the moment, Russell Wilson still seems to be learning on the job. Jimmy G back in the mix for the Niners will open off the run game. 49ers by a field goal.

Dallas @ New York Giants
The hardest game to pick because I have no idea about either of these teams. The Giants are 2-0 but with the way Micah Parsons and the Cowboys defense have been able to shut offenses down, I don’t like Daniel Jones’ odds. Copper Rush will be enough for Dallas to win in an “upset.”

Season Record – 18 – 13 – 1

Thursday Night

Pittsburgh @ Cleveland – Steelers fans: Have you seen enough of Mitch Trubisky at quarterback? It’s time for Kenny Pickett to take over. The Browns are not exactly impressive after blowing a lead late to the Jets. At least the Browns appear to be able to score points. Browns 27 Steelers 20

Sunday

New Orleans @ Carolina – The Saints played the Bucs close for about 3 and a half quarters until they melted down with a combination of stupid penalties and turnovers. This week they get the hapless Panthers who should be checking the want ads for a new coach. Saints 31 Panthers 20

Houston @ Chicago – Two mediocre football teams do battle on the lake front with one team on the rise while the other is coached by Lovie Smith. Someone needs to remind the Bears that they can pass the ball as well as run it. This will be an ugly offensive exhibition. Bears 20 Texans 17

Kansas City @ Indianapolis – Look, if the Colts can’t beat the Jaguars, who possibly thinks they can come close to the Chiefs. KC 34 Colts 24

Buffalo @ Miami – The Dolphins had an exciting come from behind win over the Ravens, but reality comes to town in the form of the Bills. This too could be an exciting game, but the Bills are the best team in the league. Bills 31 Dolphins 17

Detroit @ Minnesota – The Lions picked up a win against Washington while the Vikings had their doors blown off by the Eagles. This should be an old-fashioned NFC North battle to the death with the Vikings holding on late. Vikings 24 Lions 20

Baltimore @ New England – The Ravens will be looking to correct the ship after their upset loss to the Dolphins on Sunday while the Pats enjoyed a win at Pittsburgh. Ravens 31 Patriots 24

Cincinnati @ NY Jets – The Bengals come into this game 0 – 2 with losses to Pittsburgh and Dallas, not exactly world beaters. This week they take on the Jets who pulled off a minor upset in Cleveland on Sunday. IF the Bengals lose and go 0 – 3 air raid sirens will be blaring in the Queen City. Bengals 24 Jets 20

Las Vegas @ Tennessee – Both teams should be up for this game. The Raiders choked away a win against the Cardinals while the Titans had their teeth kicked in by the Bills. The Raiders are quickly turning into the AFC’s version of the Dallas Cowboys: over-hyped but never deliver. Titans 27 Raiders 24

Philadelphia @ Washington – Washington has problems. Philadelphia is starting to emerge as one of the better teams in the NFC. Eagles 31 Washington 20

Jacksonville @ Los Angeles Chargers – This is being written on Wednesday which means I have no clue if Justin Herbert (ribs) will play Sunday against the Jags. The Chargers has enough on defense to keep the Jags bottled up enough for a close win. Chargers 27 Jags 20

Los Angeles Rams @ Arizona – The Rams had to beat back a surging Falcons team to hold on to a close win while the Cardinals had a come-back win against the Raiders. Both teams are a little schizophrenic, but the Cardinals have something to prove from last year’s playoff game. Cardinals 31 Rams 27

Atlanta @ Seattle – Atlanta came close to mounting a comeback against the Rams while the Seahawks were trashed by the 49ers last Sunday. I expect Seattle to play better (they couldn’t play any worse) while Atlanta may have a letdown after their loss to the Rams. Seahawks 27 Atlanta 24

Green Bay @ Tampa Bay – Aaron Rodgers v. Tom Brady. Sounds like a good matchup until you realize Tampa has better talent on both sides of the ball. Bucs 34 Packers 24

Sunday Night

San Francisco @ Denver – Trey Lance breaks an ankle, in steps Jimmy Garoppolo. Sometimes good things happen to stupid teams, specifically the 49ers doing very thing they could to trade Jimmy G. Now they come out of this smelling like a rose. 49ers 31 Denver 27

Monday Night

Dallas @ New York Giants – Rest the thumb, Dak, Cooper Rush will take it from here. And he did by leading the Cowboys to a win over the Bengals Sunday. I wonder if people in Dallas are starting to see the Cowboys problem. The Giants are off to a 2 – 0 record relying on an improved defense. Giants 27 Cowboys 24
